Indian Navy Technician Apprentice Vacancy 2025 & Qualification

A total of 50 vacancies are available for Technician Apprentice posts. Here are the age limit and qualification details:

Age Limit

As per the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum No. F. No. MSDE-14(03)/2021AP-(PMU) dated 20 Dec 21, there is no upper age restriction for apprenticeship training. The minimum age limit is 18 years.

Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship in the same trade under Apprentice Act-1961 are not eligible to apply for the current program.


Indian Navy Technician Apprentice 2025: Monthly Stipend

Apprentices selected for the training program will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, and its subsequent amendments:

  • For one-year ITI certificate holders: Rs. 7700/-
  • For two-year ITI certificate holders: Rs. 8050/-

Indian Navy Technician Apprentice Recruitment 2025 Selection Process

The selection process for the Technician Apprentice posts involves multiple stages to ensure the selection of deserving candidates:

  1. Shortlisting: Preliminary selection will be made based on a Merit List. This list is drawn trade and category-wise, considering the aggregate Percentage (%) of marks obtained in ITI trades and Std X.
  2. Interview Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview at Sri Vijaya Puram. The interview carries 50 Marks and will test candidates on their technical skills in the respective trade. Call letters will be issued to eligible candidates on their registered email IDs.
  3. Documents Verification: Candidates must produce all original documents for verification, including SSC/Matriculation Marks Certificate, ITI Marks Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Caste Certificate (if applicable), PwD Certificate (if applicable), Ex-serviceman/ Armed Force Personnel Certificate (if applicable), NCC Certificate (if applicable), and Sports Certificate (if applicable).
  4. Medical Test: All applicants are required to obtain a medical fitness certificate from a Government Hospital, certifying fitness as per Rule 4 and Schedule-II of Apprenticeship Rules 1992.

The final merit list will be prepared by considering interview marks. In case of a tie in marks, the candidate’s date of birth will be compared (elder person placed above). If still tied, alphabetical order of the first name followed by middle name and surname (A to Z) will be considered.

  1. Step-1: Register on Apprenticeship India Portal: Visit www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and complete your registration.
  2. Step-2: Apply on Naval Dockyard Portal: After successful registration on Apprenticeship India, proceed to the Naval Ship Repair Yard’s online application portal at https://apprenticeship.recttindia.in/.
  3. Step-3: Fill Details & Upload Documents: Fill in all required details accurately in the online application form. Upload good quality, readable scanned documents in PDF format (A4 size, up to 200 KB). This includes a passport-size photo (Blue background, 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm, up to 200 KB in JPEG/JPG), SSC/Matriculation Mark Sheet & proof of Date of Birth, ITI mark sheet, and relevant caste/PwD/Ex-serviceman/Aadhaar certificates.
  4. Step-4: Submit & Print: Review your application thoroughly before submission. After submission, download and print a copy of the final application form for your records. No physical forms will be accepted.
