Eligibility

Nationality

Candidates must be Indian citizens. No provisions for foreign nationals are specified in the notification.

Marital Status

Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must submit an unmarried certificate at enrolment. Marriage during the 4-year tenure is prohibited, and violators will be dismissed. Agniveers may be eligible for re-enrolment after their tenure, subject to Navy policies.

  • Western Notation/Western Music on Wind Instruments: Minimum initial grade certificate from international boards like Trinity College of Music, London, or Royal School of Music, London.
  • Other Candidates: Certificates of participation or awards from national/state-level events, competitions, or performances.

Ineligible Instruments Non-chromatic or indefinite pitch instruments like Jazz Drum set, Bass Drum, Snare Drums, Side Drums, Cymbals, Bugle, or monotone instruments producing only one note or drone are not eligible.

Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the following physical requirements:

  • Minimum Height: 157 cm for both male and female candidates.
  • Visual Standards: Corrected vision of 6/6 in each eye. Uncorrected vision of 6/12 in each eye is acceptable for initial screening.
  • Tattoos: Permanent tattoos are permitted only on the inner forearms (from elbow to wrist) and the back/palm of the hand. Tattoos elsewhere will lead to disqualification.
  • Health: Candidates must be in good physical and mental health, free from diseases or disabilities that could interfere with duties ashore or afloat.

Additional Benefits and Terms

  • Life Insurance: Non-contributory cover of ₹48 Lakh during the 4-year tenure.
  • Death Compensation: Ex-gratia payment of ₹48 Lakh for death attributable to service, in addition to insurance.
  • Disability Compensation: Ex-gratia of ₹44 Lakh (100% disability), ₹25 Lakh (75%), or ₹15 Lakh (50%), based on disability percentage.

Selection Process
