Eligibility Criteria & Job Details

Ensure you meet the essential qualifications and understand the job requirements for your desired post:

Junior Hindi Translator (Post Code: 1001)

  • Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory/elective subject OR Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject, or equivalent. Also, a recognized Diploma/Certificate in translation or two years’ experience in translation work.
  • Job Requirements: Assist in implementation of Official Language policy, translate correspondences/documents from Hindi to English and vice-versa, assist in preparation/submission of reports, and other assigned official work.
  • Upper Age Limit: 30 years.

Junior Secretariat Assistant (Gen/F&A/S&P) (Post Codes: 2001, 2002, 2003)

  • Essential Qualification: 10+2/XII or equivalent with proficiency in computer typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi, and computer usage as per DoPT norms.
  • Job Requirements: Provide assistance in General Administration functions, along with any other official work assigned by Competent Authority.
  • Upper Age Limit: 28 years.

Junior Stenographer (English/Hindi) (Post Code: 3001)

  • Essential Qualification: 10+2/XII or equivalent with proficiency in stenography as per DoPT norms.
  • Job Requirements: Provide secretarial/stenographic, typing, and other official/administrative work as assigned by Competent Authority.
  • Upper Age Limit: 27 years.

Selection Procedure: Your Path to Success

The selection process for each post involves specific examinations and tests:

Junior Hindi Translator

  • Open Competitive Written Examination: Two papers (Paper-I: OMR/CBT Objective Type; Paper-II: Descriptive).
  • Paper-I Subjects: General Intelligence (50 Qs, 150 Marks), Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs, 75 Marks), General Awareness (25 Qs, 75 Marks). Negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer.
  • Paper-II Subjects: Assesses writing and translation skills (paragraph writing in English & Hindi, Precis writing, English to Hindi and Hindi to English translation). Total 300 marks, 2 hours.
  • Merit List: Prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II, provided minimum threshold marks in Paper-I are secured.

Junior Secretariat Assistant (Gen/F&A/S&P)

  • Open Competitive Written Examination & Typewriting Test on Computer.
  • Typewriting Test: Qualifying in nature (English Typing @ 35 w.p.m. or Hindi Typing @ 30 w.p.m. on Mangal Font).
  • Written Examination (Two Papers):
    • Paper-I (Mental Ability Test): 100 Qs, 200 Marks (No negative marking). Includes General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Situational Judgment.
    • Paper-II (General Awareness & English Language): General Awareness (50 Qs, 150 Marks), English Language (50 Qs, 150 Marks). One negative mark for every wrong answer.
  • Merit List: Prepared based on performance in Paper-II, only for candidates who qualify the typewriting test and secure minimum threshold marks in Paper-I.

Junior Stenographer (English/Hindi)

  • Open Competitive Written Examination & Stenography Test.
  • Stenography Test: Qualifying in nature (Dictation for 10 minutes at 80 w.p.m. in English or Hindi).
  • Written Examination (One Paper, Three Parts):
    • Part I: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 Qs, 50 Marks)
    • Part II: General Awareness (50 Qs, 50 Marks)
    • Part III: English Language & Comprehension (100 Qs, 100 Marks)
    Negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
  • Merit List: Prepared based on performance in the competitive written examination, only for candidates who qualify the stenography test.

Note on Tie Cases: Ties are resolved based on lesser negative marks, older age, earlier essential degree acquisition, and then alphabetical order of first names.

  2. Read Instructions: Carefully read all instructions available on the Recruitment Portal before filling the application.
  3. Application Window: The online application portal will be active from 17.06.2025 (10:00 A.M.) to 07.07.2025 (05:30 PM).
  4. Pay Fee Online: Pay the application fee (if applicable) online through the provided link within the application portal.
  5. Multiple Posts for JSA: Candidates applying for Junior Secretariat Assistant posts (Gen/F&A/S&P) can select multiple postcodes and indicate their order of preference.
  6. CGPA to Percentage: If your degree/diploma has CGPA/SGPA/OGPA/DGPA grades, convert it to a percentage using your Board’s formula and enter it in the application.
  7. Valid Email ID: Ensure you have a valid and active Email ID before applying online.
  8. Keep Printout: Retain a copy of your application printout and payment details for your records. These will not be available after the closing date.
  9. Single Application: Only one application will be entertained from each candidate. In case of multiple submissions, only the latest completed application will be considered.
  10. NOC for Serving Employees: Regular employees in CSIR labs/institutes, Government Departments, autonomous bodies, and PSUs must upload a No Objection & Vigilance Certificate (NOC) and a certificate stating they will be relieved within one month of appointment orders.
  11. Complete Application: Incomplete applications (e.g., without photograph, signature, fee payment, or required attachments) will be summarily rejected.
